Low budget VS High budget
High budget:

Low budget:
1. The institution used to create Paranormal Activity is Paramount Pictures. This is very unusual because Paramount doesnt usually asscociate themselves with low budget films. The institution to create Gulliver's Travels is 20th century fox, which makes more sense because 20th century fox is a very well known and large institution.

2. Paranormal Activity only had a small budget of $15,000 to pay for lots of things like cameras, actors, and editing. On the other hand, Guliver's Travels had a large budget of $112m to kick start thier movie.
3. The visionaries behind Paranormal Activity created a movie that took in a worldwide gross of almost $197 million, a staggering percentage return of over 655,000%. Gulivers Travels was a Box office bomb in the United States, as it made only $42.6 million. However, it was a financial success overseas with over $194.6 million around the world to a grand total of $237.3 million worldwide.
4. Paramount pictures are a very well known production company, this creates some confusion as to why they would help create a low budget movie. This could be explained by the popularity of the movie, they knew it would be a very good business prospect for them. 20th Centry Fox is arguably the most popular production company out there, which comes as no surprise that they helped create a high budget movie.
5. There isn't much difference between Paranormal Activity or Gulliver's Travels because their institutions are both very large. They are completely different in terms of editing and filming, which is why they're so far apart on their budget.
6.The institutions of both the films are both large which is one similarity between them. Furthermore this means the films will be both advertised at a large scale.
7. 20th century fox films:
.Avatar
.X Men
.Ice Age
.Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Paramount films:
.Star Trek
.Transformers
.The Godfather
.Mission Impossible
8. 20th Century Fox usually produce family drama's with the occasional action or thriller movie. Paramount focus's more on action movies, with a few different ones for example Star Trek as sci-fi and Paranormal Activity as horror. The genre that the company produces can be very important when you consider who could produce your film, this is because if the company you choose has more experience in your genre then they would be more helpful when they produce your movie.
9. 20th Century Fox aims to appeal to the common family which is shown through their movies. There arent really any adult films, they are all family drama's, action or thriller films. Paramount are a bit more sofisticated, They do have some films that you wouldnt show to children like horror, mixed with some action and thriller films, for this reason Paramount aim their films more towards adults.
10. I think that 20th Century Fox is the larger institution out of the two. This is because they aim to a wider range of audiences because the majority of their movies are for the family market, plus the fact all of the movies they get involved with are quite successful.
