How does your media product represent particular social groups?
We focused on various representations in our media product such as age and gender, revolving mainly around our main character, Zac. We have compared him to other characters similar to him but also explain how Zac doesn't act like the typical boy of his age.
Gender:
This is our character profile of Zac to explain the typical representation of gender. It also explains why he goes against the typical representation of his gender:

Age:
This is a typical representation of a boy of Zacs age:

Many boys of this age would be stereo typically going out to parties and go out with their friends regularly, getting up to immature things and mixing with the wrong crouds.
Zac goes against this representation of age as he doesn't appear to have many friends. At the beginning of the film you see him sitting on a bench in a quiet park, reading a book which is completely contradicting a typical boy of his age. He is shown to be isolated, liking being by him self which could be the influence of his second personality (Zabel).
Characters represented in similar ways as Zac from other films/TV programmes:

This is Lucas from a television series 'Pretty Little Liars'. A television series isn't the same as a film, but Lucas's character is still similar to Zac as he is portrayed to be very geeky and shy, and often takes part in extra-curricular activities such as yearbook club etc. He is shy and quite awkward around people which makes him different to a stereo-typical boy of his age.
This is very similar to Zac as they are both shy and awkward around people, this could show that they both have the personality of a young adult but they're stuck around teen people.
